This is a look down view of the Pacifica Municipal Pier and the Chit Chat Cafe (hexigon shaped building). I took off my drone just to the side of the cafe along Beach Boulevard. You may park anywhere close by.

Visit any month of year as the weather in Pacifica is generally the same.

You can capture a beautiful look down shot any time of day, although I prefer the morning time when the wind isn’t as strong and the light is softest.

Field tips

Follow local drone regulations and permit requirements if flying a drone.

Experiment with different shutter speeds to create interesting motion in the water. The slower the shutter speed, the more motion in the water.

Compose your frame to include the length of the pier, the hexagonal cafe and coastal homes. This will help create a sense of scale.

Explore around with your drone! There may even be some surfers worth photographing.
