You can photograph the Victorian house on the corner of Hayes Street and Buchanan Street during any month. Even though there's a large tree in the shot, it's appearance won't change since San Fransisco's weather is mild.

You can find similar lighting conditions all day — although I suggest avoiding this location during rush hour when there'll be a lot of cars blocking your view of the house. If you want to experiment with light, visit at varying hours of the day.

Even though you're standing on the sidewalk, be aware of cars passing through the street.

Because it has the capability to shoot with a wide-angle lens, I used an iPhone at this location. I recommend doing the same if you want to fit the sidewalk, street and house in your frame. If you're using a camera, make sure that you have a wide focal length.

Try using the crosswalk and cables as leading lines that guide the eye to the house.

Play around with different compositions and if you want, add a person in the shot for a sense of scale.

One of my favorite restaurants that's close to this location is Patxis Pizza. They serve some of the best Chicago-style pies and I highly recommend going! Afterward, get some ice cream at Salt & Straw to finish the day or night with a sweet treat.
