Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes

avatar
@tommylundberg
Rippling waves of sand are swept away by the desolate winds of this untouched desert oasis. Snap a picture of the dune's leading lines as they guide the eye to the natural formations of sand weaving in and out of Death Valley.

This image was taken of the Mesquite Flat San Dunes in Stovepipe Wells, which are a part of Death Valley. To get this perspective, I was facing south toward my model and the mountains. This location must be accessed by car. It's recommended to drive 22.4 mi (36 km) west on Highway 190 and then park your car in the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes Parking (36.606029, -117.116142). From the lot, it will be a two-minute walk to the viewpoint.
