Steps away from Muscle Beach, the sides of this Venice mural have become well-known for featuring larger-than-life paintings of two infamous California residents: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Morrison; but from the backside, you can capture a scene with illustrated palm trees, a zig-zagging stairwell and a smooth street that's the perfect place for a car to complement the bright, red walls. Visit this location and you'll have not one, but three, chances to photograph each side of the mural!

This image was taken from the intersection of 18 Pl and Speedway, on the back side of the Public Art murals "Morning Shot" and "Arnold Schwarzenegger" in Venice's Muscle Beach.
I recommend parking in the Venice Beach public parking (33.984331, -118.471930) and then walking to the back of the mural. Reference the GPS coordinates to see where I stood to get this perspective of the car, palm trees and stairwell against the red wall.
From the parking lot:
- Head northeast toward N Venice Blvd
- Continue onto N Venice Blvd
- Turn left onto Speedway
