Field tips
Unless you have a super wide-angle lens, I suggest getting low on the ground to capture the full extent of the shapes within the backlit wall.
Request that your model wears a distinct color (like all black) to help contrast against the illuminated backdrop. With this outfit, the model will really pop against the white lights.
For an even more dramatic effect, ask your model to stand on the railing. Capture her without showing the ground underneath as if she's sitting, suspended in the air.

I highly recommend Jing'an Temple to anyone visiting Shanghai. This 780 year-old temple is one of Shanghai's most famous and it includes the three grand halls: The Mahavira Hall, the Hall of Heavenly Kings and the Three Sage Hall — which are all rich with history and amazing statues and decor.
