M4 & M5 Highway Intersection from the RAC Parking Lot

This drone image was taken above the highway intersection of the M4 and M5 junctions in Bristol. To get this view, I stood in the parking lot of The RAC and launched my drone from there. You'll have to drive to get to this location, so if you don't have a car you can rent one or take a ride share.

To get the auburn color of the landscape surrounding the M4 and M5 highways, visit in the autumn months.

For similar lighting conditions, shoot during the daytime when it's fairly cloudy so you can capture the full detail of the highways as well as get a nicely exposed image.

Before flying a drone, check and follow local drone regulations and permit requirements.

It's not required, but I suggest keeping spare batteries and a signal booster on hand in case you lose connection to your drone.

I recommend using a drone that can fly at least 500 meters from the take off point. Having height will allow you to incorporate the entirety of the highways.

Experiment by shooting from many different perspectives and angles. The geometric shapes caused by the crossing highways are a symmetrical playground for your photography!
