Smiths of Bourton Patio

This image was taken of the beautiful Smiths of Bourton patio in Cheltenham. The easiest way to get here is by car. There are a few car parks in the area, but I suggest parking in the Coach and Car Park (51.885541, -1.754723) and then walking to the GPS coordinate, just off Victoria Street.

In the summer, the flowers outside the restaurant will be in bloom.

Later in the day is preferable because the sun won't be too harsh, but if it's overcast, you should be able to find similar conditions in the morning and midday, too.

You're on a narrow road, so using a wider lens will help you frame more of the restaurant and patio.

Use the lines of the sidewalk to guide the eye and create a more balanced image.

I suggest shooting with the rule of thirds in mind. You'll want the tables and chairs in the bottom third, the cottage in the middle and the window in the top

The cottages are really pretty so it's hard to go wrong when shooting them! Try taking photos from both sides of the storefront to capture varying perspectives.
