Royal Courts of Justice on Carey St

avatar
@aontheroad
Although the baroque, Victorian-Gothic style of the Royal Courts of Justice has been a landmark in London since the 19th century, very few people know about this backside view. It's located on a much quieter street and it even features the classic red telephone booths — a must have in your photo if you're trying to capture the true essence of the Big Smoke.

This image of the backside view of the Royal Courts of Justice was taken on Carey St. I stood on the north side of the street and looked south, in between the telephone booths. You can drive to this location, but in my opinion, the easiest way to get here is to take public transit and then walk. By public transportation: - Closest station: Chancery Station (via Central line) - Head northwest on High Holborn/A40 toward Southampton Buildings - Turn left onto Southampton Buildings - Turn right to stay on Southampton Buildings - Turn left onto Chancery Ln/B400 - Turn right onto Carey St
