St Mary Axe view of The Gherkin Entrance

The image was taken outside of The Gherkin from the street St Mary Axe. The Gherkin is one of London's most iconic landmark so it will be hard to miss! I stood in the middle of the street to get this shot. By London Underground: - Closest station: Aldgate Station (via Circle or Metropolitan lines) - Head northwest toward St Botolph St/A1211 and then take the stairs - Turn left onto St Botolph St/A1211 - Turn left onto St Mary Axe Address: St Mary Axe (the Gherkin), 30 St Mary Axe, London EC3A 8BF

The street view of The Gherkin will not change with the seasons. You can photograph this location during any month of the year.

You can find similar conditions during any time of the day, but be aware that the late afternoon sunlight can be harsh.

If you're on the The Gherkin premises, the security may ask you to leave. Stay on the other side of the street and be aware of your surroundings.

This area can be busy, but be patient and wait for just one pedestrian to walk through your frame.

Align yourself with the middle "X" in the building. This will mark your spot for where to stand and it will also create symmetry so your photo is evenly aligned.

You'll find a lot of great rooftops and city views in the financial district.
