This image was taken from the cloisters in Norwich Cathedral. When you enter the church, follow the signs for the cloisters and reference the GPS coordinates to get to this viewpoint. If you're driving, you can park in the public lot nearby called RCP Parking (52.630612, 1.303241). Alternatively, you can also take public transportation. By public transportation: - Closest station: Norwich (via EMR or greateranglia) - Head northeast - Turn left toward Riverside/A147 - Turn right onto Riverside/A147 - Turn left onto Foundry Bridge/Prince of Wales Rd and then continue to follow Prince of Wales Rd - Turn right onto St Faiths Ln - Slight right toward Horsefair Loke - Continue onto Horsefair Loke and the destination will be on the left For more information on visiting, check out the cathedral's website: https://www.cathedral.org.uk/visit/things-to-see-and-do

Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
Although it's outdoors, the cloisters at Norwich Cathedral are covered and can be accessed during any month.
The light will pour in through the cloisters, creating a naturally illuminated space, during the morning, midday and late afternoon.

Field tips

With so many leading lines (e.g. the floor, the ceiling, the sides of the cloisters), it's important to stand in the middle of the exterior room so you can create a sense of symmetry. When the image is symmetrical, it'll be more aesthetically pleasing.
A wide-angle lens (18mm) will be useful to capture the entirety of the space.
I recommend shooting from different levels. Get as high as you can, then as low as you can to see how the varying height changes affect the perspective of the image.
