Bunkers de la Pointe

avatar
@ledoigtdansloeilfr
Used in World War II, these bunkers have now become a popular tourist destination because of their island-like placement along the shore of Cap-Ferret. From up above, they immediately catch the eye and create a perplexing, intriguing image that anyone can admire. (before flying a drone, check and follow local drone regulations and permit requirements)

This drone image was shot above Bunkers de la Pointe, which is on the shore of Lège-Cap-Ferret. To get here, you'll first need to get to the fisherman village of Cap-Ferret, which can be reached by a train from Paris. You can also take a train or plane to Bordeaux and then rent a car to finish out the journey. In my opinion, I think that flying and then driving is the easiest way to get there. The last option to get there is by taking a train to Arcachon and then riding a boat to Cap-Ferret. When you finally arrive in Cap-Ferret, you'll go to the end of the peninsula which is called the "La Pointe" spot. In your GPS, you can either follow the given coordinates or input "Bunkers de la Pointe" and then follow the directions to the shore. I stood just north of the bunkers and then launched my drone directly overhead.
