When to go
This interior view of the hallway in Berlin Friedrichstraße Station can be photographed during any month of the year.
There are two main reasons why visiting in the morning is highly recommended. First, the train station functions as a major hub and is usually very busy during the day. You want to avoid daily commute as much as possible to get the isolated style of the featured photograph, so the earlier the better to get a single person in your shot. Second, you can get some really nice shadow plays with all those window frames when the sun is not up too high.
Field tips
I'll say it again just to get the message crystal clear: visit early (Sunday would be ideal, but all days work). If you can't, make sure to have some time and patience. It's worth the shot in the end to create this composition with only one person in the frame.
I used the widest option available for my lens to emphasize the scale of my subject in comparison to the hallway (24mm). At the same time, you'll also be able to get more of the windows on either side with a wider lens and this will help lead the eye toward the end of the hallway.
Make sure to bring along a tripod so you have less motion blur.
When including a model, let her/him walk away from you to give your composition some life. I'd suggest dark colors for clothing to contrast your model nicely with the brighter hallway.

There's a stunning library nearby called "Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum", which is part of Humboldt university. The interior open study area is mind blowing and it's a must-see for architecture fans.
