This picture was taken in the median at the intersection of Gerichtstraße and Müllerstraße, facing south toward the Taekwondo ASV Berlin e.V. school. The spring, summer and mid-autumn months are the most suitable times to photograph the Gerichtstraße and Müllerstraße median view of the Taekwondo ASV Berlin e.V. school. During these months, you can capture the trees and clean street. In the winter, the streets can get dirty due to the snow and cars.

Visit this intersection in the early mornings on weekends to avoid heavy traffic and capture the harsh morning light.

Try to remove anything that is distracting in the photo (like a car or multiple pedestrians), so you are just focusing on the building and its architecture.

Attempt to get as straight of lines as possible so everything is evenly aligned.

Work with the rule of thirds to get an interesting composition. Position the sky in the top of your frame, center of the building and subject in the middle and pavement in the bottom.

Add a point of interest — in my case it was the cyclist. Be patient. The sunlight shining on a subject will create a nice contrast with the shady side of the building.

Walk around the area to discover the many hidden backyards, or courtyards, that are in this district.

This area also has a lot of beautiful old brick buildings for opportunities to photograph architecture.
