When to go
All months of the year are suitable to photograph the view of the Dresden Transport Muesum (Verkehrsmuseum), Stallhof, Oberlandesgericht, Augustus Bridge (Augustusbrucke) and the Elbe River.
If you want a more moody shot, visit during the winter months.
I took the photo during sunset, but I also suggest visiting Neumarkt as early as possible to find a quiet spot and be less distracted — and also to be less of a distraction to people walking around the area.
Field tips
Please follow local drone regulations. In Germany, you're required to have insurance and an address on your drone if they weigh more than 250g (approx. 0.5 lbs). Please also note that a special permit is necessary to fly your drone here since some parts of the old town are within 5km of an airport.
I suggest checking the weather conditions before flying. Try not to fly if it's too windy or rainy.
Capture a nice foreground that connects to the back of the leading lines on the roof of the buildings as they guide your view into the photo.
I recommend scoping out the area and pre-planning your focal point. Use Google Maps in 3D view to see what angles you can get once you launch your drown from Neumarkt.
