When to go
Best season
January, February, December
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
The winter months are ideal to photograph St. Coloman Church in snowy weather.
Visit any time during the day to find similar conditions. I prefer the lighting in the morning when the soft sunlight hits the snow and creates a bright, but not harsh, contrast between the church and snow field.
Field tips
Follow local drone regulations and permit requirements. In Germany, you're required to have insurance and an address on your drone if it weighs more than 250g (approx. 0.5 lbs).
Try adding a model in your shot (you can barely see mine!) to add a sense of scale. The church and mountains will look even bigger when there's a subject to compare them to.
It's best to center the church in your shot to be the main focal point and draw the viewer's eye to its architectural beauty.

Do nearby
Head to the nearby Neuschwanstein Castle, which is around a 5-minute drive from the church. It's a popular tourist spot that is said to have given inspiration to Walt Disney when he was creating his infamous fairytale castles, so make sure to check it out!
