175 West Jackson Interior Skylight Lookup

avatar

This is one of those locations that looks better in the frame than it does it in person, but it's still such a special sight to see. There are so many different lookup angles to photograph that by the end of shooting here, you're going to need a neck massage. Get creative and have fun lining up all the lines!

This image was taken in the 175 West Jackson building, just past the entrance looking up to the north skylight. To get this viewpoint, enter the building through the Jackson Blvd entrance. Walk through the lobby and then look straight up — you can't miss the skylight. There are two skylights in the building, the north and south skylights, and I think the north one is better. If you enter through Jackson St entrance, the better skylight will be the first skylight you encounter. The square shape of the architecture will give you more symmetry than the south skylight will. By subway: - Closest station: Quincy (Pink, Orange, Brown or Purple Lines) - Head south on S Wells St - Turn left on W Jackson Blvd Address: 175 West Jackson Boulevard, Chicago, IL
