When to go
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
You can photograph from the intersection of Doyers Street and Pell Street during any month of year, as long as the weather is mild.
Winter can be fun if it's snowing, but spring, summer, fall are best because there's so much to do and see when it's warmer outside.
If you want to take a black and white photo, like I did, then make sure to visit in the daytime. At night, it'll be too dark.
Field tips
Keep an eye out for traffic! You're photographing in the middle of the street, so be aware.
Having a wide-angle lens will allow you to frame a full view of the street. The scene isn't as big as it seems, so make sure your lens isn't too narrow.
I liked having a model in the shot so that it added a human element to the composition. Bring a friend and experiment with their positioning to see what you like best.
In addition to looking out for traffic, I also recommend waiting until the street isn't crowded so your model can be the focus of the shot.
