I stood on the southeast end of The Statue of Liberty platform for this view. Although it's free to see the Statue of Liberty, you have to take a paid ferry ride via the Statue Cruises Ferry, which departs from Battery Park in Manhattan. Make sure to have a source of payment on hand. It's $5 for children 4-12, $12 for adults and $10 for seniors 62 and over.
