Cannon Beach view of Haystack Rock

avatar
@zachnichols
Capture this iconic rock formation towering 235 feet over the glistening shore as the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean. Not only does this location boast beautiful seaside views, it's also a great place to go for a walk along the water.

This photo was taken from the northern side of Haystack Rock on Cannon Beach. I stood facing southwest to get this perspective of the rock, the beach and the sunset. This location is easily accessible by car. Park in the Public Parking Haystack Rock (45.889664, -123.961656), which is also referred to as Midtown Parking. From there, it's a short walk southwest to the beach. Reference the GPS coordinates to find the exact spot where I stood to take the photo. From Public Parking Haystack Rock: - Head north on Forest Lawn Rd toward S Hemlock St - Turn left onto S Hemlock St - Turn right onto Coolidge Ave - Turn left
