The Golden Masjid is in the Katara Cultural Village. You can locate it next to the Khan Farouk Tarab Cafe and across from the Katara Multi-Purpose Hall.
When you enter the mosque, look for the narrow staircase next to the large golden pillar—that's where I took this photo. It's a tight squeeze!
Tips
When to go
Best season
All months
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
You can visit The Golden Masjid staircase all months of the year.
Given the tight area of the staircase, you'll want to visit when there's good light to illuminate the area. The golden chips will also be at their max shine then, too!
Field tips
Be respectful of others that are visiting the mosque. Be sure to dress appropriately as well.
Since it's a tight area, you'll want to use a wide-angle lens (12mm) to incorporate as much of the golden chips framing the staircase.
To bring the spirit of the destination to life, have your model dress in local attire. Black clothing also contrasts very well against the golden chips.
