Umbrella Park

This image was taken inside Umbrella Park in Doha. To get here, you can either take a car or public transportation and get off at the Corniche stop (via Red Line). From the Corniche station, head east to Umbrella Park. Although it'll be visible right when you enter the area, you can also reference the GPS coordinates to locate the park.

You can visit and photograph Umbrella Park during any month of the year.

Direct sunlight will make the umbrellas a bit more colorful, so I recommend visiting in the morning or midday. The earlier you arrive, the less busy it will be.

A wide lens (around 24mm) will permit you to frame more of the umbrellas in the image. It will also help amplify their magnitude.

Positioning yourself and your model in the middle of the corridor will make the image symmetrical.

Try placing the camera on the ground and tilting it up a bit so you can capture more details of the umbrella.

Experiment with a model! It's a creative place, so get fun with it.

Just south of Umbrella Park is the Qatar National Theatre. Even if there isn't a current show playing, it's still worth it to check out for the beautiful architecture.
