When to go
Best time
Late afternoon, Sunset
Every month of the year you can photograph the Supertrees at the Gardens by the Bay.
In the late-afternoon and sunset the lighting is much softer; you won’t have to worry about losing detail from harsh light. Stick around through blue hour and you'll witness night lights of the Gardens.
Field tips
A permit is required if flying a drone weighing more than 7kg, within 5km of an airport/military base, or higher than 200 feet.
Although this look down is a flat lay shot, proportions are very important. Think of how you would want to balance your subject with the surroundings (good proportions make it pleasing to the eye and retain your audience).
If you are photographing in harsh lighting, try shooting underexposed by 0.3-1 stops and bring the shadows back during post-processing.
Using a Netural Density (ND) filter / polarizers will help you preserve details in the photograph.
The Gardens by the Bay beautifully lights up in the night, so stick around if you can!
