Also known as the Christ Church, this sacred building has become famous for attracting visitors from around the globe. As observers stand at the water's edge of Hallstätter See and gaze onto the town's charming architecture, the view is mesmerizing with a blanket of fresh winter snowfall.

This image of the Evangelische Pfarrkirche Hallstatt church and Hallstätter See was taken from the Hallstatt viewpoint, looking south. If you don't have a car, you can take the an Austrian National OBB train to Attnang-Puchheim where you then transfer to the local REX train toward Hallstatt from either Vienna or Salzburg. My recommendation is to drive here and then park in one of the many available lots in the city. Parking in Hallstatt is easy, but unfortunately, none of the lots are free. If you're accessing this location without needing to park, it will be free, otherwise you'll have to pay a small fee (about 2-3 euros per hour) to park your car first. From any of the town's parking lots, it's easy to get to the viewpoint by foot. Reference the GPS coordinates and they'll lead you to the spot where I took this south-facing view.
