The Saguaro Palm Springs Façade

This location is in the parking lot of The Saguaro Palm Springs hotel. Pull into the hotel parking lot from E Palm Canyon Dr. There are colored doors on all 3 levels of the building, so you can choose which of them to photograph. The featured image was taken on the east side of the building; after pulling into the hotel parking lot, make a right. Park away from the building so your vehicle isn't in the frame. It's almost always sunny and nice out in Palm Springs, but I shot this during the spring time in mid-April.

Lighting may affect the scene you're trying to capture depending on what time of day it is. This side of the building is in the shade during the early hours of the day.

This is a hotel, so respect any guests you might encounter.

I photographed this image with my iPhone, but you can use any camera you want.

Try capturing the scene with clean horizontal and vertical lines.

While I was framing this shot, I noticed how the blue sky matched the color of the doors and that inspired me to go with a blue tank top to pop against the green door. Get creative and try your own color coordinating!

I stood on the ground level, but you could find your way up to the second or third using the stairs.

Get a room and stay here if you have the opportunity! It's one of my favorites in California with its crazy color palette, bright rooms and Palm Springs vibe. The pool area is super photogenic as well and can be quite the party scene on the weekends.
