Sol to Soul House

You can capture a familiar photo of Sol to Soul House at any month of the year. The Joshua Tree area and its surroundings are beautiful all year round, but it gets brutally hot during the summer months. Make sure to bring lots of water and sunscreen to prevent any heat-related emergencies if you visit in the summer.

I took this photo during late-afternoon into the sunset when the sun highlighted the bushes in the foreground. The low sun during sunrise is also a great time to photograph here.

I recommend bringing both a mid-range zoom and a wide-angle lens as there are tons of beautiful compositions all around the property.

I took this photo with a wide-angle lens (35mm) as I wanted to capture the entire property and get the stunning Joshua Tree landscape in the background.

Consider walking around the house to see how sunrise or sunset highlights other parts of the building as well. Facing north or west is usually the best idea.

You can visit Sand to Snow: Black Lava Butte and Flat Top Mesa Natural Reserve which is very close to Sol to Soul House. It's an easy hike where you can see many cactuses and the beautiful desert landscape of California.
