When to go
All months of the year are suitable to photograph the Twin Peaks, but you’ll be most comfortable in the summer. It’s incredibly windy at Twin Peaks (90% of the time) so better it be in warm weather than near freezing temperatures! I have visited all throughout the year, but I enjoy the times where I go home with good photos rather than a cold.
Visit after dark if you’d like to photograph light trails, but not too late when there wouldn’t be any car traffic.
Field tips
There are no spots on the ground to place your camera to act as a tripod, so make sure to bring one.
It's windy. Reaaaally windy. Bring a jacket.
Part of Twin Peaks Blvd is often closed, so you may have to Photoshop the left side (blue light trails) of the road by copying and reflecting the right side.
The wider the lens, the better. The hills are surprisingly close to each other so photographing with a wider frame is essential.
You could also use a telephoto lens (70-200mm+) if you want to capture close-ups of the skyline or portraits.

Do nearby
After Twin Peaks, I always grab dinner at Barney's Hamburgers nearby. I HIGHLY recommend the curly fries — I have never had better. There are also many other options for restaurants nearby.
