La Terrazza view of Suzhou River & Pudong Skyline

This photo of the Suzhou River and Pudong skyline was taken from La Terrazza, which is on the 47th floor of the Bulgari Hotel Shanghai. The easiest way to get to this location is to take public transportation and then walk. Once you arrive at the hotel, just take the elevators to La Terrazza and you'll see this east-facing view from the railing of the terrace. I shot this photo of the Wusong River and Pudong skyline in July, but no matter the month, the view from La Terrazza will appear the same.

Blue hour will provide ideal conditions to capture the city lights glowing at twilight. The cerulean hue of the sky and the yellow-golden shades of the lights perfectly complement each other.

Call ahead to La Terrazza and try to get a table near the railing so your viewpoint is completely unobstructed.

Using a wide-angle lens will allow you to capture the Suzhou River flowing from the Huangpu, as well as the diversity of architectural styles of the city.

Don't limit yourself to this one viewpoint. The entire terrace offers amazing perspectives of the city and I encourage you to walk around and find what you like best!

While you're at the hotel, make sure to enjoy La Terrazza and have a drink or some food while admiring the view.
