Tips
When to go
Best season
March, April, May
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
If you want to catch the cherry blossoms, I suggest photographing St Paul's Cathedral from late March, April and May. Normally, cherry blossom season will be over by April, but there were still many in May when I went.
I went midday and the colors were vibrant in the bright sunshine. In the morning and afternoon, you should be able to find similar conditions, too.
Field tips
Try angling your camera up to frame the cherry blossoms — they're so photogenic!
The rule of thirds principle will also help you frame this shot. Have the bottom branches in the first third, the cathedral in the second and the top branches in the third.
Use a wider aperture to get the depth effect with the blossoms and surrounding cathedral.
Wait for a double-decker bus to pass by to capture an iconic London shot.

While you're there, make sure to head inside the church. The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior!
