It's easy to see why this site is considered to be the architectural gateway to the city of London. The massive steel structure canopies like a tree around the space, creating a breathtaking visual experience in Europe’s largest single span station structure.

The image was taken inside the King's Cross Railway Station from a balcony looking onto the ground floor. Follow signs leading to "Dining and seating" + "Platforms 0 to 8" up the escalators in front of the big information screens and you'll see the featured view.

You can visit the King's Cross Station year round. If it's raining outside, it's a great place to go in and stay dry while getting some amazing shots.
The station is best captured at night after the commotion of rush hour has died down and you can really focus on the magnificence of the architecture, although any time of the day day will work.
Field tips
Any lens between 12-24mm will be best here. The wider the better to include as much of the station as you can.
I like to show movement when it comes to interior. Make sure to drop your shutter speed and use a tripod to get the same effect.
Try bracketing (shooting at multiple exposures, then combining them in post-processing) to make sure you retain the highlights and details of the architecture.
Explore different angles, but in my opinion the first floor will give you the best perspective. And, it's easily accessible!

If you're a Harry Potter geek like I am, you can take a selfie in front of the 9 3/4 platform! It's located in the same building on the lefthand side of the main structure.
