Red Leaves on Portland Road

The best month to photograph the red and orange leaves is October— especially in the second half of the month when the colors are at their peak.

During the morning, mid-day and late-afternoon, you'll find similar lighting conditions.

Positioning your subject in the middle of your photo will create a focal point that will draw the viewer's eye to the center of the image.

Enhance the vibrancy of the leaves by having your model wear a dark color. The dark clothing will also contrast nicely with the white wall, too.

Right next to this wall, there's a black door that makes for another great photo opportunity. Experiment with different perspectives and see which setting you like best.
