When to go
Best time
Morning, Late afternoon
You can photograph and visit the exterior circled floor of Futurium during any month of the year.
Depending on the time of day, you'll get a different look. This photo was taken during the late afternoon on a cloudy day, which resulted in soft lighting that complemented the scene well.
Be aware of harsh lighting because then you'll have more shadows.
Field tips
I think that a wide-angle lens is best here so that you're able to fit as much of the circular floor in the frame as possible. For reference, I used a 14mm lens.
I like to have a visual focus (like a model) in the frame of shots that are similar to this one. The model's presence will contrast well with the pattern and background. If you're traveling alone, you could also wait for someone to walk through your frame and then snap them.
The entire space is so unique and I think it's best if you walk around and experiment with shadows, shapes and viewpoints. This isn't the only photogenic area, so get creative!

Do nearby
Venture into Futurium to see what the museum has to offer. The exterior is open anytime, but the museum hours are as follows: Mon, Wed, Fri-Sun 10am-6pm; Thu 10am-8pm; Closed on Tuesdays.
For another museum, go to the Berlin Museum of Medical History of the Charité. You can visit this historic ward that's filled with collections of books and medical equipment for a more unconventional museum experience.
Check out the nearby Government District to see some interesting modern architecture. I also enjoy this area because it's never too crowded.
Make sure to see the beautiful Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus, which is just a 5-minute walk away from Futurium.
