The image was taken in front of the Haus Kulturen der Welt stairway entrance. This viewpoint is on the northwest side of the building and I stood on the path above the stairs to get this perspective of the model standing on the stair railing. For similar lighting conditions, visit during sunset to capture the soft light emanating from the building as the sun goes down.

If you choose to have your model stand on the railing, please tell them to proceed with caution and watch their step.

Although I shot this image with a mobile phone, I recommend using a wide-angle lens to capture the building and the stairs. A tripod could also help with your shot!

Stand above the model so you can emphasize the stairs coming up from below the ground level.
