When to go

Best season

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
You can photograph the Haus Kulturen der Welt during any month of the year.
You can find similar conditions in the morning, midday or late afternoon. There are windows, as well as artificial light, so make sure to visit when the sun is out. Visit right when the building opens or near closing time to more easily capture the space without visitors.

Field tips

As this is a public area, please be respectful of the other visitors.
Symmetry is especially important here because of the color blocking and clean lines that separate the floor, blue elevator and wall. Make sure to position yourself directly in the middle of your image, (align yourself with the elevator and clock) so you can create a sense of exact symmetry. Standing in the center will also help to enhance the reflection of the elevator.
Take your time and experiment with different compositions. This location can result in a more simplistic image or you can get creative and try something new, like adding a model to your shot.
