The image was taken standing at the bottom of the Tempodrom building, looking up toward the spiked top. No matter where you stand on the structure, you'll get a similar shot since the building is symmetrically shaped, but I stood on the south side. Your model can make their way up the roofing as long as there isn't an event. By subway: - Closest station: Bhf. Möckernbrücke (via U1, U3, U7 lines) - Head west on Hallesches Ufer/B96 toward Möckernstraße - Turn right onto Möckernstraße - Turn left and take the stairs - Turn right - Turn left and the destination will be on the right Address: Tempodrom, Möckernstraße 10, 10963 Berlin, Germany

Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
You can photograph the Tempodrom year round.
Visit this venue during the day to get the best natural light. The circular architecture will give you a chance to walk around and find your preferred light during different times of the day.

Field tips

You can have models in your shot, but I advise against it during events, which usually start at night. The security will be around and they could ask you to leave. If there are no events scheduled, you shouldn't have a problem photographing a model.
The building is symmetrical in shape and allows you to take a similar shot from whichever side you choose. I suggest checking where the sunlight will be at different times of the day before you go to the location so you know where to stand for the best light.
Explore different angles. Try going to the top and shooting down for a new perspective. If it's rained before your visit, you can shoot the puddles nearby, which is also another popular Instagram shot.

Do nearby

Check out the Berlin Story Bunker, which is a museum that offers a tour of a re-created bunker where Adolf Hitler spent his last days.
I also recommend visiting the Potsdamer Platz. This public square, although busy with tourists, offers great photo opportunities.
If you're looking for a more serene environment, head to the canal to have a nice evening where you can enjoy the boats passing by along the water.
