Herzogstuhl Cottage in the Woods

The drone image is of Herzogstuhl, which is an elevated cottage in the forest of Kleineutersdorf. The only way to access this location is by car. To get this viewpoint, route to the GPS coordinate, which will lead you to a side road off of K206. You can park your car and launch your drone from here. Face north and Herzogstuhl will be directly ahead.

To capture the lush greenery around the cottage — like I have in my image — I recommend visiting in the late spring or early summer months.

The best conditions for this locations are on a cloudy day when there is a soft light coming through the clouds. With harsh sunlight, you'll run the risk of having harsh shadows in your shot.

Follow local drone regulations. In Germany, you're required to have insurance and an address on your drone if they weigh more than 250g (approx. 0.5 lbs).

Less than a five minute car ride away is Schlosspark, where you can visit the Neues Jagdschloss Hummelshain castle.
