Through a tree-lined path, capture this impressive waterfall in the Allgäu region. The free-flowing water cascades down the side of the jagged mountain as your model stands, basking in the afternoon sunlight.

How to get there

This image was taken of the Hinanger Waterfall in the Bavarian region of southern Germany. To get to this location, first park at the parkplatzk (47.476190, 10.295937) and then head east toward the waterfall.
There isn't a direct route to this location, so make sure to follow the GPS coordinates on your phone to get to the exact spot where I stood to get the photo. It's very easy to get the view I had — just simply stand at the end of the bridge where the GPS coordinates are so you don't have to climb on a rock or lay on the ground and have your model stand opposite of you on the cliff adjacent to the waterfall.
Tips
When to go
Best season
March, April, May, October
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
March, April, May and October are the suitable months to photograph Hinanger Waterfall. During these months, the water in the river will be at its fullest and the waterfall will be freely flowing.
Visit on a bright day when the light will come through the trees and you'll be able to see rainbow reflections in the water.
Field tips
I recommend bringing a 35mm or 50mm lens to capture the waterfall with a model standing off to the side.
Don't be scared to get wet! Get close to the water and you can even jump in, but before you swim, please be careful and make sure there's enough water for a dip.
I recommend having your model dress in either a sundress or a swimsuit for a more relaxed, earthy vibe.

Do nearby
There is a lot to explore in this area. The mountain Nebelhorn and lake Seealpsee are both close to the waterfall and are definitely worth a visit!
If you're looking for something to eat or drink, check out Oberstdorf, which is a cute typical Bavarian town that has some dining options.
