My Bookroom Shop

The featured image was taken in front of the My Bookroom (a second hand book shop). Inside you’ll find many small bookshelves. The easiest way to get there is to take the MTR to Prince Edward Station and exit “B1.” Go straight, turn right at Lai Chi Kok Road, pass through the bridge and you will find My Bookroom. All months of the year are suitable to photograph the My Bookroom shop.

Visit My Bookroom shop after 1pm — it’s well lit during the day and in the evening. If you want to avoid the crowds try going when it opens or late-evening.

Spend some time with the shop’s owner or employees before you go around taking pictures. They’re happy to let you to photograph but make sure to show respect.

Use a wide-angle lens (30mm) if you want to maximize your capture of the bookshelves.

Be patient to capture your right moment. The man in my frame looked very cool and gave a professional and warm feeling to my image. He’s a regular guest and close with the bookstore owner.

You’ll find many books and book shelves outside and within the shop. Walk around to find your perfect composition!
