This shot was taken on the east side the Bagley Pedestrian Bridge and is of a model who climbed up on the cables. The bridge crosses the Fisher Freeway.
It's easy to approach the bridge from the street. Just park your car on either 21st St or W Fisher Service Dr and then follow the GPS coordinates to get to the exact spot where I stood.
Tips
When to go
Best season
All months
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
Although you can capture a similar shot any month of year, warmer months are more suitable because it's difficult to climb on the cables when it's cold, snowy or rainy.
As long as it's during the daytime you can capture nice views at this pedestrian bridge. I would avoid going at night when it can be dangerous to climb on the cables.
Field tips
The cables are sturdy and it's not much of a climb, but make sure to tell your model to be cautious on the cables.
Get creative with your composition and model, having them pose a variety of ways with suspension cables.
Explore different vantage points around the bridge. There are several great photo opportunities, so take your time and get creative with the architecture of the bridge.
