The image was taken in the skate area of Riverside Park in Detroit.
To get here, I recommend taking a ride share or a car. Have the car drop you off or park near the corner of 23rd Street and West Jefferson Ave. Then, head south on 23rd Street and the skatepark will be on your righthand side.

Field tips
Since you're photographing skateboarders in motion, make sure to be hyper-aware of your surroundings. There could be boards flying at you or someone could get hurt if you're in their way.
Be patient and wait for the right time to step in and shoot. You don't want to be in anyone's way, so wait until the skateboarder knows you're nearby to start taking their photo.
Experiment and take a lot of photos at this spot! I was lucky to photograph Andy MacDonald doing and Egg Plant trick on the day that I shot, but any skateboarder will give you a unique photo that's all your own.
