5th Ave & E 20th St view of Empire State Building

It's easy to get into an "Empire State of Mind" with a view like this! In the heart of the Flatiron District, you have a picture-perfect vantage point of a quintessential day in Manhattan — yellow cabs whizzing by, smoke arising from the busy streets and towering landmarks that dominate the concrete jungle.

This image was taken on the northeast corner of 5th Ave & E 20th St, looking north toward the Empire State Building. The easiest way to get to this location is by taking public transportation and then walking. I stood on the sidewalk to get this perspective and to ensure that I was safe from oncoming traffic. By public tranposrtation: - Closest station: 23 St (via N, Q, R or W Line) - Head northwest on E 23rd St toward Broadway - Turn left onto 5th Ave
