Egyptian Artifacts at Temple of Dendur, The Metropolitan Museum of Art

I photographed these Egyptian Artifacts at the back wall of Temple of Dendur in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, located at 5th Avenue and East 82nd Street. The giant windows were to my left. This is an interior shot and can be photographed year round.

To the left, there's a floor-to-ceiling window, so I recommend coming in the morning when the light is shining through. It's also less crowded in the morning! I was on a private tour when I took this shot. This is one of the busiest museums in Manhattan, so it can be difficult to get a solo shot of your model during regular hours. Go as soon as the museum opens and you'll be more likely to avoid other subjects in your shot.

Be respectful of the other museum visitors when photographing.

My 85mm lens allowed me to really zoom in onto my model and the Egyptian art.

I really loved the juxtaposition of the movement of the model with the structured sculptures. Try to pose your model around the statues and explore the area for different perspectives.

The Met has amazing collections of art from all over the world. Spend the day exploring and learn about different cultures, art styles and artists.
