The Pond in Central Park

avatar
@davekrugman
In the bustling concrete jungle of New York City, it's wonderful to find a hidden pocket of the untouched, natural world. Green tones, bridges, ponds and winding paths make the city's largest park one of my favorite places to shoot in all of Manhattan — especially for portrait shots.

This image was taken inside Central Park, next to The Pond and the Gapstow Bridge. This area is in the southeastern corner of the park, so I recommend using the entrance off of 59th Street and 5th Avenue. From there, you can reference the GPS coordinates and find the tall bushes that surround the perimeter of The Pond. By subway: - Closest station: 5 Avenue Station (via N, R, W lines) - Head north toward The Pond
