Light Trail Painting at Helios on Biopolis Way

I took this photo at Helios along Biopolis Way, underneath the zigzag bridge. The easiest way to get to this location is to take public transportation and then walk about six minutes. When you get to Biopolis Way, reference the GPS coordinates to see where I stood for this perspective. Please note: I had to stand in the middle of the street. Watch out for cars and only enter into the street if there aren't any vehicles. By public transportation: - Buona Vista (via East West Line) - Head southwest on North Buona Vista Rd - Turn left onto N Buona Vista Dr - Turn right onto Biopolis Way

You can achieve a light trail painting at Helios on Biopolis Way during any month. The street is open year round and is unaffected by the seasons.

I recommend going to this spot at night. The buildings and bridge will be illuminated and your source of light will stand out against the night sky. If you want a day shot, try going in the late afternoon when the sunlight is not too harsh; otherwise, sunset is also good for a less-bright photo.

This photo was taken in the middle of the road, so be aware of the traffic coming in from behind you. Get your model to keep a lookout for you if they're facing your lens; otherwise, an onlooker could be helpful.

Use a wide-angle lens with a focal length of at least 7mm or above and a shutter of at least 20 seconds to give yourself enough time to draw the light before snapping the photo.

Make sure to bring along a tripod if you're shooting at night. It will give you clarity when capturing the light painting.

Position your model in the middle of the road and then "draw" the light painting around them.
