Helix Bridge view of Singapore Skyline

This location is on the Helix Bridge viewing platform on the Marina Bay. If you’re coming from Raffles Ave or the Float@Marina Bay area, it will be the first viewing platform. I walked right up to the platform’s railing where there was droplets and the Singapore Skyline in the background. By MRT: - Closest MRT Station: Promenade (Circle Line and Downtown Line) - Take exit “A” to Temasek Ave. towards Raffles Ave. - Turn right on Raffles Ave. and you will see the Helix Bridge

All months of the year are suitable to photograph from the Helix Bridge.

Visit during sunset while the sun sets behind the Singapore skyline, creating a silhouette effect and beautiful colored hues in the sky. To get the droplet effect on the railings you’ll of course have to visit after a big rain!

I was really interested in the droplets of water on the platform railing so I placed my camera just below the top allowing me to keep the droplets in focus.

The railing is curved so I had to manipulate the camera to make sure the railing was straight, which also had to be aligned with the skyline. Be patient in your adjustment to get the right angle.

I composed this shot using the rule of thirds: railing; skyline; sky. Experiment with different ratios!
