The fountain runs every month of the year and the season has no impact on this shot.

At mid-day the fountain is usually on (except during routine maintenance) and the sun’s rays will be directly above the fountain. You can also go at night and take a long exposure, which creates a nice effect.

Field tips

Get down really low (my lens hood was wet!) and position the horizontal line (where the fountain meets the ground) at the center of your composition to maximize the size of the fountain and its reflection.

You can get creative with the wet ground. Your model can try different postures, jump shots, etc.

Try a long exposure to blur out the fountain water falling downwards!
