If you love concrete jungles and shapes, you'll definitely dig this spot right above Singapore's Central Business District. (Drone) (Without a permit, don't fly a drone: weighing more than 7kg, within 5km of the airport/military base, or higher than 200 feet)

This photograph is a look down shot of the Telok Ayer Market and surrounding buildings. I stood at the nearby field at the junction of Central Blvd and Raffles Quay. By MRT: - Closest MRT Station: Downtown (Downtown Line) - Take exit "F" - Head northwest on Central Blvd toward the nearby field at the junction of Central Blvd and Raffles Quay.

Best time

Mid-day, Late afternoon
Every month of the year is good to photograph the Telok Ayer Market look down.
Visit during mid-day or late-afternoon to avoid the harsh lights and shadows when shooting with a drone.

Field tips

A permit is required if flying a drone weighing more than 7kg, within 5km of an airport/military base, or higher than 200 feet.
Be sure to check the weather forecast before flying your drone.
Arrive early to get familiar with the location and find a spot with a good signal. The field I stood on is usually empty and the grass is getting longer.
Depending on the lighting conditions, you may use filters that favor the situation.
Try incorporating the leading lines of the Lau Pa Sat food centre to lead the audience to your main subject. I composed the road lines so they lead to the sides and corners of the frame and centered my subject before taking the shot. This saved me a lot of time in post production.
