SkyVille @ Dawson Roof Garden

This image was taken on the SkyVille @ Dawson Roof Garden. To get this perspective, enter the building and then take the lift from the lobby to level 47 where you can access the rooftop. Although this is a residential building, you can still get to the roof without living there. Reference the GPS coordinates when you're on the roof and it'll lead you to the exact place where I stood to get this view. Singapore's climate is mild year round, so as long as it's a nice day, you can visit this location during any month.

I visited on a day when there were a lot of clouds. In the morning, midday and late afternoon (clouds or not), you should be able to find similar lighting conditions.

I recommend visiting on the weekends because there will be less people. You can also try holidays, when people are less likely to be out and about.

Symmetry is especially important here! To keep everything balanced, stand in the middle of the walkway.

I used an iPhone to shoot this image, but if you're using a camera, make sure you have a wide-angle lens so you can fit the architecture into the frame.

Incorporating a model will add a sense of scale and it'll really enhance the size of the two structures.

Check out the neighborhood coffeeshop, QI Philosophy Cafe, or visit Seven Star 七福星, which is a local food court.

Head east and walk along the Alexandra Park Connector. This pathway offers a leisurely place to stroll next to the water.
