The featured image was taken below the Carquinez Bridges.
Route yourself to “The Nantucket” restaurant — it is below the bridge near the water (Carquinez Straight). Park in the dirt lot and follow the railroad tracks in front of you to the right towards the bridge — you’ll arrive at the view!
Tips
When to go
Best season
All months
Best time
Night, Midnight+
All months of the year are suitable to photograph the Carquinez Bridges.
Visit after dark to capture the illuminated bridges and light bursts in the night’s sky.
Field tips
There's a small homeless population nearby, but they’re harmless.
You'll want to use an ultra-wide angle lens (14mm) to incorporate the fullness of Carquinez Bridges.
The foreground can get pretty interesting if you happen to visit when it's a low-tide. A pipe will reveal itself!
I centered myself and stayed level. Experiment and find your perfect composition!
