The black and white tile, deep-red decor and various hanging lights in this antique-filled Georgian mansion provide the perfect location to photograph a playful, yet historical, interior.

Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
All months of the year are suitable to photograph the Brunswick House Restaurant.
Visit this place in the morning (after breakfast has finished around 11am) as it tends to be quieter then. You can also come here during the midday and late afternoon for similar conditions, but know that there could be more people in your frame.

Field tips

There is very little natural lighting in the restaurant, so I suggest bringing a camera light if needed for food photography.
Try angling yourself so that all of the hanging lights can be seen. If you take this shot from straight on, some of the lights will be hidden by the larger lights.
If you come here during a busy time of the day, use the diners to your advantage to get a candid shot.

Do nearby

I recommend taking a look at the antique shop and the rooms upstairs. Outdoor dining is also available on their terrace when the weather is nice.
I recommend checking out the Tate Britain, which is just across Vauxhall Bridge and about a 5-10 minute walk from the restaurant.
