When to go
Best season
April, May, June, July, August, September
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
The mid-spring and summer months will be the most ideal time to find the lush greenery on Braxeninsel Island.
Photographing in the morning for long shadows casting from the morning sun and the glowing tips of the trees on land. You can also visit during the midday and late afternoon to capture the island illuminated by the sunlight.
Field tips
Before flying a drone, check and follow local drone regulations and permit requirements. In Germany, you're required to have insurance and an address on your drone if it weighs more than 250g (approx. 0.5 lbs).
Be patient and wait for a kayak, paddle boarder or small boat to enter your frame. They'll add a pop of color against the blue water and will also create an unexpected focal point.
I suggest flying your drone high enough so that Braxeninsel will be right below you. My personal preference for this composition is to have the island at a slight diagonal, but experiment and get creative with your angles.

Do nearby
Near the Parkplatz am Eibsee, there'll be a cable car that can take you up to Zugspitze, which is the highest mountain peak in Germany.
Continue along the hiking trail and take in the scenic views. There are many gorges, waterfront docks and patches of dense forest, so take advantage and have your camera ready for some other landscape image opportunities.
